The Queens Borough Public Library has been a great help to the work of the committee. It not only provides a home for our collection but also microfilmed our collection in 1997. The microfilm is available for viewing at the Central Branch in Jamaica, Queens.

Also in 1997, we published our first Historical Calendar, with pictures and data, including current tidal and lunar information. The 2019 Calendar is currently being printed, and will be available during Historical Day on October 14, 2018

In the past the Historical Society received funding from New York State Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer and State Senator Shirley Huntley. The funds were used to purchase items for displaying our collection and for the production of a brochure.

How you can support us

Help support the Broad Channel Historical Society. Your donation means a lot to us. With your donation, we can purchase materials, such as binders and plastic sleeves, to preserve the collection. Additional costs include duplication of photos and other material.

We can also build up a reserve fund to purchase display cases and other items that will be needed when we get a permanent space of our own, such as in a Broad Channel Community Center.

All donations are tax deductible. Mail your check or money order to: Broad Channel Historical Society c/o Mrs. Margaret Wagner, 79 West 18th Road, Broad Channel, NY 11693

The 2026 Historical Calendar is still available!

The calendar costs $10 and is being sold at All American Bagel on 20th Road and All American Channel Market on 10th Road.
The Broad Channel Historical Society calendar is filled with many people and/or scenes from Broad Channel. Again included is tidal information linked to the moon phases. It makes a great holiday gift for present and especially former residents of the town. If you are unable to pick up a calendar locally, please see the options below.
